Teaching
I have been teaching at the college and university level since 2010, in Singapore and Canada. Having worked as a copywriter for a number of years, I am also comfortable teaching in industry-related classroom settings. I employ a problem-based approach in the classroom and am good at breaking down complex concepts and making them relatable to contemporary scenarios for students to examine. It’s important for me to establish a safe space in the classroom for them to question and investigate the various topics they encounter. To complement the learning objectives, I develop practical exercises to which students can then apply their newfound critical thinking, reading, and writing skills.
My experience gives me the breadth of diversity and understanding to help students of all ages and from various backgrounds. My pedagogical approach is underlined with an empathetic but firm attitude. I also emphasize teaching strong foundation of professional habits that are highly applicable to their careers. You can read some of my students’ feedback here.
